Andrew Liles

Brighton, UK, based sound-sculptor, Andrew Liles, is a highly regarded and prolific artist whose work during recent years has painted those corners most people would rather ignore or pretend do not exist. Blending metamorphic textures, quivering pulses, haunting melodies and otherworldly voices with all manner of indiscernible noises, he creates vast and often surreal soundworlds that point towards all the madness and confusion bubbling underneath reality as we are taught to believe it.

Already having released a number of albums that have garnered critical acclaim and much attention from the vanguard of the UK's voice for such matters, The Wire, Andrew Liles has gone on to collaborate with many major players involved with so-called experimental music from around the world.

Presently, new material is expected from him that includes collaborations with Current 93's David Late Tibet, Nurse With Wound's Colin Potter and Tony Wakeford of Sol Invictus. Likewise, he has contributed to the next Volcano The Bear album and is soon to release an album devoted to remixes of his material (by, amongst others, Volcano The Bear, The Hafler Trio, Band Of Pain and Frans de Waard) for the currently Krakow-based Fourth Dimension Records.

Known equally for a string of mesmerising live performances (most notably in Vienna with Nurse With Wound members), Andrew Liles seems intent on fulfilling a destiny purely of his own design.
