Antanas Jasenka (b. 1965) is a sound artist and one of the most interesting Lithuanian electronic music composers.
Jasenka explores many different areas of music from academic electroacoustic compositions, theatre and movie music,
to conceptual art and independent advanced experimental electronics.
He has performed worldwide, his pieces were broadcasted in radiostations in Europe, USA, Australia, he has also collaborated
with artists like Ralf Wehowsky, Jim O'Rourke, Achim Wollscheid, Toshiya Tsunoda, Ryoji Ikeda, Merzbow, The Hafler Trio, Arturas Bumsteinas, Atrac and more.
The collection of works presented here comes from 1995.
For these recordings Jasenka used microphones, mixer, delay system, cassette player/recorder HITACHI,
tape player/recorder ELFA, metal plate and a graphic equalizer.
He transformed the sounds collected from various sources by the "cut-off" montage technique which enables the artist to cut and rearrange the order of the sound elements.
A result of these manipulations are 8 analogue noisy soundscapes which sound very refreshing in the era of an omnipresent digital noise.
